Mike Stagen
P. Michael “Mike” Stagen is an accomplished financial professional with over 20 years of experience in commercial lending and financial analysis. Currently as Assistant Vice President and Commercial Lender at First Mid Bank & Trust, Mike excels in managing and expanding commercial lending portfolios. With a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Mike has built a strong career in banking, holding key positions at institutions such as Blackhawk Bank and Barrington Bank & Trust. His expertise spans credit underwriting, relationship management, and financial strategy.
Mike's leadership extends beyond his professional role. He serves on the Board of Directors, on the Executive Committee, as Chair of the Finance Committee, and as Treasurer for the Elgin Math & Science Academy in Elgin, IL. He is also an active member of the Northwest Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Events Committee based out of Hoffman Estates, IL. His commitment to community service is further demonstrated through his volunteer work with Junior Achievement where he has presented how small businesses run to multiple 3rd & 4th grade classrooms in the U-46 School District of IL. He is also part of the One Million Degrees Program through Harper College of Palatine, IL, where he mentors students in business and career development.
